Clay Pigeon Shooting
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced shooter we have a set-up that will suit everyone. You’ll learn the key techniques of clay pigeon shooting including safety, gun mounting and most importantly how (and when) to pull the trigger.
4 x 4 Off Road Driving
Our most popular activity on Graythwaite Estate. Lumps, bumps and camel humps. Controlled acceleration and axel articulation. CBA Events will bring you the best 4×4 experience by far! Get behind the steering wheel of one of our Land Rover Defenders and take on our very own, professionally built natural off road driving course, one of a kind with stunning views of Lake Windermere.
This activity is ideal for families and friends who fancy a bit of competition and is suitable for all – you don’t even have to be good at football! Each player will be engulfed in a zorb ball which you can use to bounce, bash and boing your opponents out the way before bending it like Beckham!
Lake District Guided Walks
Explore the hills and discover the hidden gems within the Lake District with your very own mountain guide. We have numerous ‘tried or tested’ routes suitable for all ages and abilities. Maybe you, your family and friends would enjoy a gentle, half day, low level walk through some of the most beautiful scenery Cumbria has to offer. Alternatively, take to the fells and adventure into the heart of the Langdale Pikes.
Introduction to Bushcraft
We’ll teach you the skills you need to survive a night in the Lake District without the deluxe comfort and amenities that Silverholme and the Graythwaite Cottages offer. Venture into Graythwaite estate’s woodland and learn skills such as lighting fires, building shelters, sourcing water, basic camp fire cooking and of course toasting marshmallows.
Canoeing on Lake Windermere
Join us for a fun and leisurely canoeing experience where we’ll teach you the basic canoeing and paddling techniques. Journey into the quiet bays and visit some of the famous islands on Lake Windermere. You’ll spot some of our local wildlife, maybe play some canoe games whilst enjoying the natural peaceful environment over a warm drink and a flapjack.
Sailing on Lake Windermere
Jump aboard a 34ft yacht and prepare yourself for an adventure of a lifetime on Lake Windermere. You will be able to board your yacht on a jetty close to the Graythwaite Estate where you will be met by your fully qualified and friendly skipper for the day. For larger and something a little more competitive, speak to us about matched yacht sailing regattas. We’ll take care of safety but insist that you bring a camera – the views are spectacular!
Maximum of 6 people per yacht.
Family Sports Challenge!
Take on your friends and family in this varied and competitive event. We will welcome you all on to the event field before we introduce the teams. There’s only one goal in this activity – win more points than the other team(s) and be crowned champions of Graythwaite! Challenges on offer include: Archery, School Sports Day, Bubble Football and our HUGE Tree Climb.
Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)
Stand up Paddleboarding is fun, exciting and enjoyable. Your instructor will meet you at your cottage, get you kitted up in all the gear before you, your friends and family make your way down to the lake where your paddleboards will be waiting. A fantastic way to spend any morning or afternoon on England’s largest natural lake.
Treat your loved ones to a picnic with a view. We have different picnic packages available from afternoon tea to a family picnic, a BBQ or romantic proposals at sunset over a glass of champagne. The Lake District is famous for scrumptious local produce, which we source especially for you. Our Land Rovers will pick you up outside your cottage and whisk you off to the perfect location; all you need to pack are your sunglasses and a camera.
